About ProCool

ProCool is an international project supported by the European Commission in the context of the LIFE promotional programme. Its objective is to promote the development of energy-efficient, plug-in refrigerator and freezer systems for commercial applications.

The objective of ProCool is to develop market-oriented, high-quality equipment for the food and beverage trade that is both energy-efficient and environmentally friendly. At the heart of the project is a competition offering manufacturers the opportunity to present themselves as developers of innovative, environmentally friendly appliances. Users of refrigerator and freezer equipment may also take part in the project and take advantage of the information and presentation platform that is currently under development.

In Austria, ProCool is organised by the Austrian Energy Agency and the Austrian Consumers’ Association. In Germany, the German Energy Agency and the Wuppertal Institute for Climate, Environment and Energy are responsible for the project.
